A Little About Cedarwood

First off, I must say, I’m not very attracted to the scent of Cedarwood Essential Oil, but I love the Therapeutic benefits.  To help my nose with the scent of this oil, I mix it with Lavender.

Everyone’s nose picks up on something different with single oils and blends and this is what helps me.  You may love the scent of Cedarwood, and I know plenty of people who do, but I need to give it a little help in the scent department.

A personal favorite of mine is a synergy of Cedarwood and Lavender.  Mix this blend with jojoba oil, or carrier oil of your choice, and you have a great blend to rub on the bottom of your feet, which helps promote relaxation and sleep.  When I do this, I am out like a light at night and I stay out.  I also like to mix this blend with Argan Oil for a scalp massage to help promote hair growth.  I do this right before bed at night too.  Also, Diffusing this blend at bedtime is a must try especially for those of you who have trouble falling and staying asleep.

Cedarwood is often described as woodsy, warm, and soft but I just don’t get that.  Other oils Cedarwood blends well with are Bergamot, clary sage, cypress, eucalyptus, floral oils, juniper, resinous oils, rosemary.

*Please remember, Young Living’s essential oils are potent and the therapeutic benefits are second to none.  If you too don’t like the scent of an oil but you find the same oil from another company that smells sweeter or is more kind to the nose, you may in fact have an oil that has been adulterated.  Sweeteners like vanilla and other chemicals are sometimes added to oils from other companies.  Please beware.  I’ve done my due diligence with other oils and I know what is out there and a bit of research and personal experiences has lead me to Young Living and there hasn’t been any looking back.

Must know properties of Cedarwood include:

Antifungal, anti-infectious, antiseptic (urinary and pulmonary), astringent, diuretic, insect repellent, and sedative.

And best yet, this oil is only $11.25 wholesale!
